Nyårsafton! Klockan ringde redan 06.45. Vi skulle fira nyårsafton Epcot som är en av världarna i Disney World. När parken är full tar den inte in fler personer utan stänger entrén helt. Även om man har förköpt biljetter garanteras man inte inträde om parken är full. Enligt Vacation Service på vårt hotell stänger parken entrén cirka 10.30 och sedan kommer ingen mer in i parken. Det blir alltså fullt så snabbt. Nu var det dessutom nyårsafton och då gällde det att hänga på låset för att vara garanterad att komma in. Vi hade dessutom förköp biljetterna på hotellet och då ville vi komma in.

När vi kom fram till parken såg vi den galet långa kön till parken Magic Kingdom som är originalparken på Disney. Där finns askungens slott. Vi var verkligen tacksamma över att vi inte valt att fira nyårsafton där. Kön till Epcot var inte alls lika lång.

Proceduren för att komma in i parken var samma som på Universal Studios två parker. Vi fick scanna våra biljetter och fingeravtryck och de sökte igenom vår väska. Det var runt 24 grader ute och fuktigt.

När vi kommit in gick vi först in i och tittade i en butik med samlarföremål. Sedan gick vi vidare till en större butik och fick Celebration-pins 🙂 om man firar något får man en gratis pin för att visa detta. Det finns för nygifta/bröllopsresa, födelsedag och familjeåterförening, första besöket i parken och så finns det säkert ännu fler.

Först gick vi till området Living the Land vars tema är hållbar miljö, vilket är lite udda för att vara en nöjespark. Det fanns en stor restaurang där så vi gick dit och tog varsin tallrik med klassisk amerikansk frukostmat. Vi fick toast som smakade kanel, äggröra, bacon och råstekt potatis. Det var en god frukost 🙂

Sedan gick vi till attraktionen Finding Nemo som fanns i en närliggande byggnad vilken var utformad som ett akvarium i flera våningar. Kvällen innan satt vi och bokade Fast Pass för parken. Vi hade tre Fast Pass och detta var en av de få attraktioner som fanns att boka. Egentligen skulle vi nog ha valt attraktioner till Fast Pass tidigare då vi skulle ha kunnat välja de häftigaste attraktionerna.

När man lägger till Fast Pass till sin biljett får man förtur i kön till tre attraktioner. Man kan t.ex. med hjälp av Disney appen på mobilen välja vilka attraktioner man vill ha förtur på. Sedan får man ett tidsspann på en timme för var och en av de tre attraktionerna och under den tiden får man gå i en snabbkö. Detta är något som är värt att sätta sig in i då väntetiden även på attraktioner för små barn är uppåt 90 minuter. För de häftigaste attraktionerna är väntetiden 120 minuter. Det är dessutom jobbigt att stå i kö i två timmar när det i solen är närmare 30 grader och riktigt fuktigt. Det fanns Fast Pass även på Universal Studios och nästa gång vi åker dit ska vi absolut ha det för köerna där var också mellan 1,5 – 2 timmar på de bästa karusellerna. På Universal Studios är det dock så att man får förtur i alla köer under hela dagen. Det är lätt värt den extra kostnaden att stå 5 minuter i kö istället för 2 timmar. Både Universal och Disney gör så när de fyller på attraktionerna att de i första hand tar folk från snabbköp. Den vanliga kön är Stand By och man får åka med i mån av plats. Fördelen med Disneys system är att man bara kan välja tre snabbpass som bara gäller under en timme. Detta gör att Stand By-kön inte blir så lång som på Universal Studios där personerna med Fast Pass kan åka samma attraktion om och om igen genom att springa i snabbkön, vilket gör att snabbkön aldrig minskar så att det aldrig släpps in personer från Stan By-kön.

När vi kom in i Finding Nemo fick vi sätta oss i båtar som åkte genom världen i filmen Hitta Nemo. Det var fint gjort med projiceringar på väggar och i akvarium i kombination med de riktiga fiskarna i akvariet. Vi ger denna gulliga och barnvänliga åktur 2/5 clownfiskar i betyg.

Sedan tittade vi runt i de olika akvarier i byggnaden. Det fanns även sjökor och delfiner där och en kvinna ur personalen lekte lekar med en av delfinerna. Hon satte upp en bild på ett djur på glasrutan till akvariet. En bit bort satt flera bilder på djur och delfinen skulle peka på den bild som föreställde samma djur som på bilden kvinnan satt upp.

Vi gick vidare till Turtle Talks som även den är en attraktion som finns i byggnaden. Den är ännu mer barnvänlig och går ut på att man sätter sig som i en minibiosalong. På hela väggen framför publiken projiceras vatten och en sköldpadda. Sköldpaddan kan interagera med publiken och publiken fick ställa frågor till sköldpaddan. Det var mycket välgjort och sköldpaddans skämt passade även vuxna. Vi ger denna barnvänliga attraktion 2/5 fiskmåsar i betyg.

Vi gick tillbaka till byggnaden Living the Land då vi hade Fast Pass på den åktur som fanns där. Vi fick sätta oss i små båtar som åkte igenom ett stort växthus format som en glaskupol. Vi såg olika plantor och en röst i en högtalare i båten berättade om växterna. Det fanns t.ex. bananträd, jordnötsträd och tomatplantor i spejsade odlingslådor . Rösten berättade om hur Epcot bedriver forskning för att komma på nya sätt att odla på ett ekologiskt och hållbart sätt. Maten som odlas används i parkens restauranger. Man fick även se hur de odlar sin egen fisk. Denna tur kändes mest som att den riktade sig till skolelever. Vi ger båtfärden 2/3 ekologiska tomater i betyg.

Sedan gick vi till The Circle of Life med Timon och Pumba som fanns i samma byggnad. Där fick vi se en 20 minuter lång film i en biosalong där Timon och Pumpa pratade om en hållbar miljö. Vi ger denna undervisande film 2/5 gnuer i betyg.

Sedan gick vi vidare till byggnaden Imagination! för att åka Journey Into Imagination With Figment. Precis som i tidigare attraktioner fick vi sitta i en båt och denna gång åkte båten igenom en värld som representerade människans olika sinnen. Med hjälp av syn, hörsel och doft fick vi uppleva den tecknade draken Figment värld. Vi fick t.ex. se en stor fjäril som var synlig framifrån men osynlig från sidan. Det fanns även en doftmaskin som lottade fram olika dofter. Självklart lottade den fram skunklukt när vi åkte förbi 🙂 Vi ger denna upplevelse 2/5 näsor i betyg.

Vi fortsatte till Future World East och åkturen Spaceship Earth som vi hade Fast Pass på. Vi fick sätta oss i små vagnar där vi satt två och två och hade en skärm framför oss. Vagnen åkte genom hela mänsklighetens historia. Miljöerna var otroligt välgjorda och deras animatronics var så snygga att de såg ut och rörde precis som riktiga människor. Sedan fick vi svara på frågor på skärmen om teknik medan vagnen svävade genom en svart tunnel vars väggar var täckta av tusentals små ljus som skapade känslan av en stjärnhimmel. Efter att vi svarat på frågorna fick vi se en tecknad film på skärmen där våra ansikten var inklippta. Vi fick se hur vi skulle leva i framtiden och vilken teknik som skulle passa oss i vårt framtida liv 🙂 Denna åktur var en fantastisk upplevelse och det var riktigt kul att vi hade Fast Pass på den. Vi ger den 5/5 astronauter i betyg.

Sedan gick vi och köpte varsin Disney-outfit och skickade nyårshälsningar till Sverige som ligger sex timmar före Florida i tiden. Nedan ser ni hur glada vi blev när vi tagit på oss våra fina kläder.

När vi hade skickat nyårshälsningarna fick vi skynda oss till världen World Showcase där länderna Kanada, England, Frankrike, Marocko, Japan, USA, Italien, Tyskland, Kina, Norge och Mexiko finns uppbyggda runt en stor sjö. Området World Showcase är enormt och vi skulle äta middag i Marocko då vi bokat bord på restaurang Marrakesh. Restaurangen var uppbyggd som palatset i Aladdin med högt i tak och orientalisk inredning. Det spelades orientalisk livemusik och en kvinna dansade magdans. Vi valde en trerätters festmeny med varsin alkoholfri melondrink till. Nedan ser ni en bild på drinken.

Till förrätt fick vi linssoppa med en köttfärsfylld smördegsrulle. Ni ser en bild på denna nedan. Den smakade mycket godare än den ser ut.

Sedan åt vi grillad biff och kyckling med två otroligt goda såser samt grönsaker, klyftpotatis, lammkorv och tabbouleh. Ni ser en bild på rätten nedan.

Maten smakade mycket gott! Vi hade inte så höga förhoppningar på maten då detta ju är en nöjespark men maten var som tagen från en fin restaurang på stan. Alla som arbetade i restaurangen hade arabiskt ursprung och arabiska kläder. Roligt nog var det hela fyra muslimska familjer som åt i restaurangen, passande nog eftersom menyn bara innehöll mat som passar för dem.

Vi lyckades att äta all mat på endast en timme då vi inte ville missa fyrverkeri- och ljusuppvisningen Illuminations som var kl. 18.00. Showen ägde rum i sjön som World Showcase är byggd runt. Föreställningen höll på i 20 minuter och var en spektakulär blandning av storslagna fyrverkerier, ljus, laserstrålar, musik och filmer projicerade på en snurrande jordglob i mitten av sjön. Varje land i World Showcase uppmärksammades med fyrverkerier i landets färger medan en strålkastare lyste upp det landet när just det landet nämndes. En stor eldsfackla tändes även vid varje land. Vi ger denna otroliga show 5/5 starka guldstjärnor i betyg då den slog allt vi tidigare sett.

Efter Illuminations bestämde vi oss för att utforska de olika länderna i World Showcase. Vi trodde från början att varje land skulle bestå av någon liten butik med en restaurang men icke så var fallet. Varje land är uppbyggd som en liten stad med byggnader som liknar de i respektive land. I exempelvis Tyskland kunde man köpa tyskt öl, fotbollströjor med tyska lag med mera. I Norge fanns det att köpa troll, norsk/svenskt godis (en marabouchokladkaka kostade 9 dollar!), vinterjackor från helly hansen och så vidare. Ok, lite fördomsfullt (haha) men ack så roligt och riktigt häftigt att få uppleva detta! En rolig notering är att personalen i respektive land hade på sig nationalkläder och pratade på hemspråket. Vi fastnade i Kanada, där vi blev inbjudna till att se en film. Filmen presenterades som en reklamfilm för Kanada och visades på skärmar i 360 grader. Kändes som att se filmen på kosmonova. Filmen då? Tja, lärorikt, fina miljöer och en låt som fastnade i huvudet: ohh Canada! Några skratt fick vi i alla fall 🙂

Efter filmen kände vi att fötterna började värka. Vi köpte vatten och glass och satte oss ner för att ta en välförtjänt paus. Vi beskådade bland annat den enorma vita glob, inte den vita snurrande globen i sjön. Denna stora glob ser ut som globen i Stockholm och på denna projicerades en stor klocka som räknade ner till tolvslaget.

För att fördriva årets sista skälvande timmar gick vi till Future World för att åka attraktionen Mission: Space. Det fanns stora scener i varje land i World Showcase som spelade tung partymusik komplett med laser, stroboskoplampor och rök. De flesta parkbesökarna festade vid scenerna vilket var en stor fördel för oss eftersom Mission: Space dagtid var den attraktion som hade längst kö med två timmars kötid. Nu väntade vi bara 10 minuter. Vi fick välja om vi ville åka den gröna, snälla, versionen av attraktionen eller den orange som är mer fysiskt påfrestande och utsätter kroppen för G-krafter. Vi valde den gröna versionen eftersom vi inte riktigt visste vad attraktionen gick ut på. Vi paraden ihop med två personer, en pappa och hans son. Var och en av oss fick en uppgift som navigator, engineer, pilot och commander. Vi fick sätta oss i en trång kapsel som såg ut som en riktig rymdkapsel i vilken vi var helt instängda. Vi låstes fast och var och en av oss hade en skärm framför oss samt knappar och en joystick. Vi skulle tillsammans hjälpas åt att lyfta skeppet, ta det genom rymden och landa det på Mars. Kapseln tippade åt olika håll och skakade. Det var en häftig upplevelse och det kändes som att vara i rymden på riktigt. Vi fick mersmak och bestämde oss för att pröva den orange versionen.

Vi fick lyssna på en lång varningsvideo innan vi satte oss i en kapsel med en mamma och hennes son. Vi spändes fast och när kapseln skulle lyfta denna gång pressades vi så hårt bakåt att det kändes som att ansiktet trycktes ned. Det skakade våldsamt och vi kastades hastigt fram och tillbaka när vi flög genom rymden och fick väja för stora stenar som flög genom rymden. Egentligen snurrade kapseln så fort att det skapades G-krafter men för oss kändes det som att vi flög uppåt. Detta var en fantastisk upplevelse och vi hade alla en viktig del i åkturen då vi enligt kommandon från rymdcentralen vid rätt tidpunkt skulle trycka på olika knappar för att aktivera t.ex. hypersömn. Vi ger denna galet roliga åktur 5/5 NASA-medarbetare i betyg.

Sedan fick vi skynda oss till nyårsfirandet i World Showcase. Först fick vi se Illuminations igen. Denna show följdes av fyrverkerier och musik av ett slag som vi aldrig sett maken till. Enorma kaskader av färger lyste upp himlen och fyrverkerierna var så storslagna att människor sträckte upp sina händer mot himlen som för att kunna känna på färgerna. Fyrverkerierna sköts nämligen upp i en sådan mängd att det såg ut som att hela himlen skulle ramla ned. Detta var det häftigaste nyårsfirandet vi någonsin sett och det är omöjligt att beskriva hur vackert det var.

Lyckliga gick vi efter firandets slut mot parkens utgång och såg hur parkens stora glob projicerade orden God Natt på olika språk. Vi lyckades fotografera den när den visade svenska texten som ni ser nedan.

Vi var tillbaka på hotellrummet efter 16 timmar i parken. Vi hade dessutom gått över 29800 steg!! Det var en otroligt häftig upplevelse som vi verkligen rekommenderar.
